SpringHill Suites Philadelphia Airport Ridley Park

Freddy picked us up from the airport even though she was about to finish work. She went out of her way and stayed later to accommodate us. We felt safe during our whole visit, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Check-in with Daniel and check-out were both easy. We had a great stay at Springhill Suites and I’d recommend it.

The room was SO nice, no complaints there. Daniel at the front desk helped me sign up for a Bonvoy Membership, and I won 5k points on the spinning wheel. I’ve worked as a front desk agent myself, so I know how much service can affect a stay. I appreciated how he kept trying to get the signup to work when the new system was making it difficult.

Taj was patient and kind when I asked about the shuttle, and adjusted when my plans changed. Colleen helped get my crew and me safely to the hotel on our graduation day after a long day, which made things easier. Ramon went above and beyond to pick me up from the airport, and I really appreciated our down to earth conversation. Thanks to Ramon, the shuttle driver, Taj at the front desk, and Colleen on night audit. You’re all so hospitable and kind. Hope to be back and see you soon, man. You deserve a raise!

The breakfast was chaotic, with limited variety and no restocking. Pastries, bread, dairy, and fruit ran out and stayed out, even though there was still an hour before breakfast was supposed to end. On the holiday schedule it should have ended at 9:30 AM, but everything was shut down at 9:00 AM, like a regular weekday. A maintenance worker also chose the middle of breakfast service to replace light bulbs in the dining area. Housekeeping used guest elevators with their service carts, suggesting the service elevator was unavailable or out of order. Common areas were poorly maintained too. Our room had several serious problems. The toilet paper roll had already been used, the body wash dispenser was empty so we had to shower with shampoo, and the original wall thermostat had been removed, leaving an open electrical cavity exposed. The walls and furniture were visibly stained and dirty, the drawers didn’t open or close properly, and the shower door’s lower corners were full of grime and brown, slimy residue. It looked like routine maintenance was lacking. I recently stayed at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Philadelphia Airport/Ridley Park. The front desk staff were friendly at check-in, but after that things deteriorated, and the stay fell far below the standards I expect from Marriott. These problems point to a serious lack of management oversight and a failure to uphold the SpringHill Suites brand’s basic standards. The property has potential, and I hope upper management takes these concerns seriously, because it’s currently falling short on cleanliness, maintenance, and the guest experience.
