Brookwood Motel

The rooms were spacious and clean, and the place seemed well maintained. Staff were friendly, and the maids were especially nice and tried to help. I enjoyed my stay and would come back.

We booked at short notice and got a room with two beds, a fridge, and a microwave. The bathroom mirror was broken, which looked pretty ghetto. They advertise free breakfast out front, but apparently that stopped years ago. Everything is pretty far away, so you'll definitely need a car.

We were only there for 20 minutes, but they wouldn't refund our $50, so we had to eat the cost. A huge spider had its legs poking out of the wall where the cable wire runs, and there was another dead one on the second mirror ledge, which they call a windowsill. I couldn't stop thinking about where the nest might be. The place was grimy and outdated too. I know it was a $50 room and you get what you pay for, but this was too gross. I'll stick with familiar chains where I know the rooms will be clean and comfortable.

They asked me to leave after seeing me smoke outside. I smoke, but prefer non-smoking rooms for cleanliness and use designated outdoor smoking areas. If they'd told me smoking outside wasn't allowed, I would've turned around. The bed sheet had a stain or some liquid on it, and you could see vacuum tracks, along with grime in the corner the vacuum missed. The room had 70s-style decor. There were two bathroom mirrors, with the second set into what looked like an old window. I wonder what was behind it. I'll stick with big-name hotels from now on.
