The snow apocalypse cut our stay short, but the staff and management still made us feel welcome. Summer even offered a safe ride home in case we got snowed in. I have MS, and I was anxious about taking a mini vacation, but Summer put me at ease. Our room was immaculate, and the hotel’s new upgrades were beautiful and noticeable. I appreciate that Holiday Inn Tanglewood Roanoke Va. made Mysticon 2026 affordable for families and friends. The front desk was super friendly and accommodating, and the people running Mysticon were professional and entertaining. Karaoke and Murder Mystery were highlights for us. This is our family’s favorite event, and I really hope Mysticon becomes an annual event again. Thanks, everyone, for a job well done!

I haven’t stayed yet, but after getting conflicting answers on several calls, I finally spoke with Summer at the front desk. She answered all my questions, eased my mind, helped arrange an ADA compliant room, and made sure I’ll have what I need when I arrive tomorrow. I wanted her bosses to know what a kind, amazing employee she is. Thank you, Summer, for helping this handicapped and neurospicy guest!

Once a year our book convention basically takes over this hotel, and the staff are absolutely wonderful about it. They’re sweet, so accommodating, and never complain about how many of us there are. We love coming back to see our BESTIES!!

The rooms are fine, but the rest of the experience felt dreary and dingy, from the atmosphere to the staff’s attitude. Management seems to have lost its sense of excellence, and the employees seemed uninterested, unhelpful, and unmotivated. I paid for “made to order” breakfast, but the buffet was woeful. Holiday Inn Express buffets look five-star by comparison, and those are included in the room price. When I asked for an omelette, the answer was “no,” so I’m not sure what “made to order” means. There was no juice, fruit, or yogurt, and I had to search for silverware. The coin-operated laundry had no detergent or coins, and I was told to try the Food Lion down the street. This seems like an overall management problem. There may not be better options nearby, but it’s worth looking elsewhere.
