Buffalo Creek Bed & Breakfast

We spent two nights at BCBB and really enjoyed how quiet it was. Sitting beside the creek and listening to the water was so relaxing, and we didn't run into any bugs. The place was clean and tidy, with plenty of amenities, and the hosts were great. If you want somewhere secluded and well off the beaten track, I'd recommend it.

We loved staying at Rob and Robin's place, right by the creek. The rooms were comfortable, the setting was quiet, and the people were great. Thanks for having us, we'll be back!

The hosts, Rob and Robin, were warm and friendly, and breakfast was plentiful. They were accommodating about special diets and even offered to take our dog out while we explored. We got a free map and useful driving suggestions, and enjoyed chatting with them and their neighbours. We also happened to witness a snake hunt, though I didn't catch what kind of snake it was. The area felt like a real taste of rural life, which was something I'd been curious about. Mosquitoes weren't too bad, it rained on and off, and the yellow jackets stayed in one area. Some of the property's limits caught me off guard. There's just one guest room, and breakfast is served in it. The room is smaller than most motel rooms, and the ceiling is lovely wood but low for people around six feet tall like us. I'd pictured a spacious country breakfast area with big windows, an oval table, and gorgeous dining chairs, based on a photo. Activities were listed on a small slip behind the WiFi password, so I missed that kayak rental on the lake was apparently included. I didn't see mountain bikes, and ATV rental was $20 per hour plus gas. There was no hot tub, just a bathtub with jets, and it wasn't a suitable size for us. The closet had only two hangers, the fridge was very small, and the TV was tricky to use, with many channels unavailable. Getting there after sunset was a bit challenging, which limited night activities, though that's what I'd expect in a rural area and I hadn't planned much. There was no kitchen, so we washed cups and silverware in the bathroom sink. Robin provided dish soap, but the shallow sink made it hard to avoid splashing water across the counter. Still, we had a good time, and I'm grateful to our hosts for the welcome, friendly conversations, and all the smiles.

Every time I visit, this place feels like an oasis from everyday stress. It's so homey and comfortable, and the owners are incredibly sweet and considerate. The food, events, and company are always stellar. Their dog and cats are also very friendly with people.
