I left after the morning employee treated me so badly over the coffee that I dropped my key on the desk and walked out. The night employee who checked me in had been nice, but the woman working the morning of 12/17/2024 was rude and made me feel like I’d never been treated that way at a hotel before. I work in retail, and customer service matters. If a coffee maker pushes her over the edge, she might want another job. I feel for anyone who has to deal with her; she didn’t seem comfortable with the public. The coffee maker in my room was disgusting, so I took my things to the car and planned to get coffee at a gas station. I smelled coffee brewing in the lobby when I came back. The breakfast room light was off, but the machine said brewing was done. I saw the employee in the office and got no response, so I moved the carafe off the brewer and started to put it together. She came in, switched on the light, told me not to touch the pot, then grabbed it, put the dispenser in, switched the light off, and stormed out. She could have apologized for sitting in the office and not doing her job instead of getting upset that I helped myself to coffee. The room itself was dirty. I killed a bug within my first 5 minutes there, sticky stuff was left on all the surfaces, and there seemed to be black mold in the bathroom. The in-room coffee maker hadn’t been cleaned, and the TV remote didn’t work, so I had to stand by the TV and use its buttons.

There was noise from the extended-stay guests all through the night, and I’d heard past guests report bedbugs, though I didn’t see any myself. The room was only clean-ish, smelled of cigarettes, and had one towel that looked clean. Housekeeping changed the towels just once. I’d stay at the country view instead.

The staff were friendly when I pointed out how bad the room was, and they gave me a new set of sheets. That doesn’t change how nasty it was. The sheets and bed were dirty, there was a booger on the bathroom wall, hair in the shower and on the sink, and stains on the walls. The carpet had bleach marks too. These were the nastiest rooms I’ve seen at a chain hotel. Ownership and management should be embarrassed.

It was a pleasant, kid-friendly stay, and I’d come back or recommend the place. The halls smelled and looked nice, definitely not like dirty socks, and the carpets were clean too. The staff were really nice and all had smiles on their faces, which surprised me. A very nice, clean motel.

The location is convenient, but be ready for an unpleasant stay. Although it’s part of the Wyndham chain, the hotel is in terrible shape. The rooms feel like a rundown motel, with dirt, old towels, and stained sheets. I couldn’t tell what had caused the stains, and they were unsettling. Take that as you will.
