I left after the morning employee treated me so badly over the coffee that I dropped my key on the desk and walked out. The night employee who checked me in had been nice, but the woman working the morning of 12/17/2024 was rude and made me feel like I’d never been treated that way at a hotel before. I work in retail, and customer service matters. If a coffee maker pushes her over the edge, she might want another job. I feel for anyone who has to deal with her; she didn’t seem comfortable with the public. The coffee maker in my room was disgusting, so I took my things to the car and planned to get coffee at a gas station. I smelled coffee brewing in the lobby when I came back. The breakfast room light was off, but the machine said brewing was done. I saw the employee in the office and got no response, so I moved the carafe off the brewer and started to put it together. She came in, switched on the light, told me not to touch the pot, then grabbed it, put the dispenser in, switched the light off, and stormed out. She could have apologized for sitting in the office and not doing her job instead of getting upset that I helped myself to coffee. The room itself was dirty. I killed a bug within my first 5 minutes there, sticky stuff was left on all the surfaces, and there seemed to be black mold in the bathroom. The in-room coffee maker hadn’t been cleaned, and the TV remote didn’t work, so I had to stand by the TV and use its buttons.
