The room looked decent when we arrived, and online check-in was quick and easy. But the lobby and halls smelled strongly of marijuana, and our key card came in a worn, stained sleeve. As the day went on, we noticed how much cleaning had been missed. The tile was sticky and dirty, there was hair on the soap packet and on the back of the bathroom door, and the mirror and faucet handles were dirty. The tissue cover was rusted, the towels looked dingy, and the shower needed a better scrub. The faucet was coming away from the wall. The water was very hot but left a slimy feel on our skin, maybe from too much softener. The toilet was outdated, had black mold around the top edge, and its mechanism got stuck the first night, so I had to take off the lid to fix it. There was something running down the entrance door. The room information book was old, dirty, and sticky. The bed wasn’t too bad, and the air conditioning worked really well. The carpet had stains, the couch was rock hard and stained, and the mirror over the desk was dirty. The microwave was disgusting, old, and rusted. The refrigerator was dirty with something running down its front, and we could hear the room above us. Breakfast was available, but the tables were dirty. There were also broken-down cars in the parking lot. The staff had good reviews compared with other hotels, so we stayed here. I don’t need anything fancy, just somewhere clean, and this wasn’t it.
