We won’t return. Parking was inconvenient, with only single spaces along the sides of the building, so unless you arrive early, expect to park at the back. We left the “Please Make Up the Room” card on the door early in the morning, but no one came. That was especially disappointing because the front desk said fresh towels wouldn’t be available until morning, even though it was still early evening. We found a sleeve of keys on the desk when we arrived, which made us wonder if someone else had been offered the room and left because it wasn’t suitable. We’d traveled for hours, it was late, and we were too tired to complain. Then we kept finding problems: the wardrobe doors and a dresser drawer wouldn’t stay shut, and my daughter bruised her leg on the drawer when she bumped into it on a nighttime bathroom trip. There were several unfinished-looking ceiling patches, the toilet tank lid was cracked all the way through, and a chewed dog toy was beside the bed. The desk chair was worn and peeling, and the fridge seemed to be missing a leg, so it wobbled. We won’t be back and would tell others to look elsewhere.

The service was what really stood out. We left an item behind, and the staff went out of their way to get it back to us. I’m grateful for their help and happy to recommend the hotel. The room was comfortable, and breakfast was decent too.

My husband and I have stayed here several times and had a reservation for that night, but we both came down with the flu and couldn’t make the drive. I called at 8:30 a.m. to explain and cancel. The clerk said they needed to check with the manager and would call in 10 minutes. Two hours later, I called again and was told I’d get a call in five minutes. After another hour, I contacted Corporate and spoke with Customer Relations. They said that under the 24-hour cancellation policy, it was up to the hotel. The representative put me on hold, contacted them, then came back to say the hotel would stick to the policy. I understand the rule, but sometimes a little compassion is called for. I’ll look for other hotels in the area next time.

The place was clean, quiet, and peaceful, and the front desk went out of its way to accommodate my disability. I also loved that there was no deposit and the breakfast had a great variety. I’ll definitely stay again.
