Staybridge Suites Rock Hill by IHG

We travel often and are IHG platinum elite members, so I mention that this chain is usually our go-to. This Staybridge was appalling. We had reserved a king one-bedroom suite earlier that day, before check-in, but when we arrived around 6:30 p.m. the assigned room already had someone in it. Mistakes happen, so we went back and waited in line for another room. That one was empty, but the bathroom sink still had toothpaste spit in it, the shower had a soap scum ring, hair, and green soap or shampoo residue where you'd set soap. The sheets were dirty too. There was half a pot of coffee left in the maker, and crumbs all over the kitchen floor. I called the manager on Monday since this happened over the weekend, and they offered just 10,000 reward points. We'll make Marriott Bonvoy our preferred chain now. For the same price, we've found it cleaner and more comfortable, with much better customer service.

Stayed here on Halloween, and the room wasn't ready even a few hours after check-in, so I waited another half hour. It turned out to be worth it. The hotel was quiet, breakfast had good options, and the dining area was roomy enough that you could sit without feeling crowded. Cleanliness was better than I expected, especially when hotel service seems to have gone downhill. I'll stay again.

Roaches in the room and furniture that was damaged, like a dog had chewed it up. I reported both problems at the front desk, but nobody fixed anything or offered to accommodate me. The stay was disappointing and nowhere near the cleanliness or quality I expected. I wouldn't come back.

Two hours after check-in time, our room still wasn't ready, which made for a stressful arrival. The staff acted as if nothing was wrong and didn't seem concerned. I found the way we were treated absurd. This place is an outdated two-star hotel, and I do not recommend it. Worst hotel I've been to.
