My friend and I couldn’t stay in the room we booked, and we lost the money for both rooms because they refused a refund. We paid about $60 a night, then went to a Comfort Inn for the same price and had a much better stay. There are plenty of better places nearby at similar rates. I don’t understand the four- or five-star reviews. The photo of the lobby should’ve been enough to make us walk away. Stay at your own risk.
My car broke down while I was passing through, and I needed somewhere to stay for a week while the mechanic ordered a part. The staff were amazing and accommodating, and the rooms were clean and comfortable at an affordable price. Being on foot, I also appreciated having a restaurant nearby and a gas station down the street. I’ll stay here again when I pass through on my way home.
It’s an aging place, but clean and good value. My linens and bathroom were clean, and the kitchenette was useful, with a full range and a basic set of cookware and dishes. I brought dish soap, which turned out to be necessary, and washed the dishes before using them because I found bits of dried-on food. Several things were worn or broken, including the toilet paper holder, floor tiles, light switch knobs, and a bulb. The AC/heater filter was clogged, too. The unit I was upgraded to had three queen beds, but just one small table and one chair, even though there was room for a bigger table. The upstairs neighbors’ children and dogs ran back and forth from midnight until 1:30am. I was awake anyway, so I didn’t complain, but I wouldn’t stay on the ground floor again. Otherwise, it was quiet.
Room 212 was the highlight: an updated full suite with an oven and stove, fridge, kitchen utensils, full bath, very comfortable bed, and great A/C. Check-in was easy, the guy was friendly, and after I left a message asking about availability and price, he called back in under five minutes. It was quiet, the room was clean, and as a single man I felt secure, though the complex and surrounding area were borderline sketchy. The place was well lit, but the exterior was dirty, trash had piled up in the staircases, and the walkways and stairwells badly needed power washing. It’s an extended-stay complex with some low-budget tenants. I travel a lot on a strict budget and had read the reviews of nearby places in the same price range. This seemed like the less risky option for quality, safety, and easy check-in, and I was right. Lou's Dining Refined shares part of the parking lot and serves affordable, excellent old-school food. The $39 16oz prime rib, served Thursday through Saturday, came with all the fixings, a loaded potato, salad, roll, and an excellent cut of beef. Drinks were affordable, and with tip I spent $70. After an eight-hour drive from Boise I wasn’t up for checking out Club 307 across the street from Lou's, but it’s open until 2 if you need to get your swerve on. Restaurants in town close by 9, or 10 at the latest. I’m confident the rooms aren’t all the same, but 212 was excellent and a great value. The coffee was Folgers, Carmel flavored... WHY?
The rooms were nasty, the hotel dilapidated, and the area felt very scary. Broken shades left people able to see you sleeping, the bathroom door was missing its latch, and the floors were sticky and warped from water damage. My daughter wouldn’t use the toilet, so we took her to the gas station. The trailer park nearby looked run down and scary, and I could hear every creak from the bed in the room above. Guests leaned on their trucks drinking, playing mariachi music, and talking loudly late into the night. There was just a dive bar and gas station nearby. It seemed oriented toward truckers and meth users. Awful and gross. I wouldn’t stay again even if I were paid, and I wouldn’t eat the breakfast even if they had any.
