Loyalty Inn Rockingham

I paid $86, but left about 30 minutes later, around 9-10pm. The room was disgusting and dirty, and the bed was broken. I got hurt on it, which is how I found out. I had two kids with me, so I found another place, which was so much better. There was no refund. Nobody could have missed how that room looked, and I deserved my money back. You live and learn. I’m never going here again.

The rooms are outdated and need work, though the cleaning ladies were very sweet. Most of the customer service was crap, and the staff were hateful. My mother is disabled, and the bed frame bent when I sat down, hurting her. I told the front desk at 8:30am, but had to go back two more times before they finally offered to move us, even though they’d already moved us into that room once. The next day they said they wouldn’t rent to us anymore, even though we did nothing wrong. I’d stay away.

We decided not to stay after seeing a dead cockroach on the room floor and a wasp nest right on the hinges of the door, before we’d even taken two steps to it. The people staying two rooms away also chose not to stay. Most rooms are connected, and there’s no way to lock or close those connecting doors to make sure nobody can come in or out. Longer-term guests told us an exterminator was due that same week. Looking at the reviews now, though, it seems these roaches have been around for well over five years.

The staff were very nice, and the room itself was clean, though it looks like it needs more repairs. The shower could use some work, and a big roach outside got into the room while we were bringing our things in. I’d have given it five stars if the room had been a little better maintained and there weren’t bugs around.
