This was our third year at Bear Neck Motor Lodge in Rockport, MA, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. The waterfront setting is peaceful, with beautiful views, and shops, restaurants, and galleries are an easy walk away. We could explore town without driving. Our room was cozy and clean, and the owners clearly take pride in keeping the place welcoming. It was so nice to wake up and stroll along the water or head into town for coffee. Rockport visitors should give it a try, it’s a lovely mix of charm, location, and value.

The view is easily the best part, especially on a night like tonight when the auroras are dancing right outside our windows. Seeing the northern sky makes the fee feel worthwhile. The rooms are clean and have everything we need for the night, and I like being able to check in by text without any stress.

Having the ocean right outside the window made for such a relaxing night’s sleep. Those morning views are definitely bucket-list worthy.

This is a peaceful place to watch wildlife swimming right in front of you. All 8 apartments face the ocean, only 10 feet from the water at high tide. I loved hearing the sea while sleeping with the screen door locked, the main door open, and the windows open. The photo is from my balcony. The location is charming but very touristy, with lots of activity, shops, and restaurants nearby. For a scenic drive, I’d recommend heading toward Gloucester. The route passes some stunning homes owned by affluent people. I’d suggest booking a second-floor room for the elevated ocean view. I’m already looking forward to a longer stay next time, it’s a great spot for enjoying the coast and local culture.
