Eli’s help made our first visit to Rockport what we’d hoped for, and we’re eager to return to Captain’s Bounty. The motel is in a fantastic location, the rooms are comfortable, and the hospitality is exceptional. We’d heard our friends speak highly of the place and the service they’d received over the years, so it was disappointing to arrive and find our rooms weren’t adjoining as requested. There was another room between them, and although we’d paid the same rate, our friends’ room was noticeably nicer. I explained the problem to Eli at the front desk. He listened, understood, and quickly found us a much nicer room with an adjoining door to our friends’ room. It normally would have cost considerably more, but he charged us only a very modest extra amount. His kindness, professionalism, and real effort to make sure we had a good stay impressed me most. We highly recommend Captain’s Bounty.

This will be our go to the next time we’re in town. The first floor room was amazing, and we loved being able to lock the screen door at the front. With that open and the back door open too, an October breeze came right through the room. The place has a quaint, nostalgic seaside feel, and the service was fantastic. You can walk to Bearskin Neck in four minutes.

It’s a relaxed motel rather than a fancy hotel, and being right on the beach is super convenient. We loved our stay, and the clean room had a balcony facing the water. There were two of us and my dog, so I was especially happy they allow pets on the first floor. Pet friendly places are hard to find. We went in October, when dogs are allowed on the beach in the off season, though they aren’t allowed there during summer. As I mention in reviews when it’s relevant, staying here supports a small, local, independently owned business. Highly recommend!

Eli, Sharon, and the woman who cleans the rooms were all very helpful, including with our travel plans. The place was very clean, parking was on site, and the balconies have walls between them for privacy. From the balcony, the view is fantastic, and you can hear the ocean waves and walk on the beach. It’s close to Bearskin Neck and local sites, and the town is beautiful. Gloucester and stores are an easy drive, and public transportation is available. Thanks for a memorable stay.

For our 25th wedding anniversary we stayed in a beautiful spot with great views and fun room decor. All the shops on bearskin neck are within walking distance, along with some of the best seafood you can get.
