EVEN Hotel Rockville - Washington, D.C. Area, an IHG Hotel

The plant-based shampoo, conditioner, and lotion smelled nice and felt good quality, and the hotel itself was modern, clean, and close to plenty of shops and restaurants. I stayed April 19-23, 2026. My room was spacious and mostly quiet, but there were a number of problems: the sink had no hot water and leaked underneath, the shower hose leaked too, the bathroom sink wasn't fully clean, and there was a small mark on the sheets. The fridge smelled, and the ice machines make big blocks that guests break up noisily at night. There's no microwave in the room, so heating food means going downstairs. Check-in felt hurried, I was interrupted while talking, and I didn't receive a reminder before arrival. Parking is shared with the shopping center, fills quickly, and costs $20 a night, which felt steep. Better maintenance, cleanliness checks, and basic conveniences would make a real difference.

The front desk staff have been polite and kind whenever we've spoken with them. Housekeeping, though, has been unprofessional: after the flooding, we asked for extra towels and someone looked at us and walked away. Earlier, the replacement duvet was tossed at us with an eye roll. We're only on day two, and the second room already has visible mold on the bathroom tile. In the first room, we found black marks on the duvet, then fishnet stockings in the sheets while remaking the bed. Housekeeping brought another duvet, but we had to put it on ourselves, and we took the stockings to the front desk. The TV was broken and needed maintenance; later, water leaking through the bathroom grout flooded the floor, so we called the desk and had to move rooms. Packing everything and relocating meant missing prepaid, non-refundable reservations, which cost us money and added frustration. We chose this Hilton because we trusted its standards, so this many cleanliness and repair problems across two rooms in two days is unacceptable. We hope management will contact us about the disruption, missed bookings, and appropriate compensation. We just want a clean, comfortable, stress-free stay for the rest of our visit.

The one thing this place has going for it is the location. My family and I were put in a room with a heater that didn't work, even though it was 30 degrees outside, and the heating and air units make unusually loud, random clicking sounds. I switched rooms, but checking that a room is livable shouldn't be my responsibility. Other reviews mention the same noise, and the hotel already knows about it. For roughly $160 a night as an IHG member, I expected basic things to work. I've stayed in nicer motels. I can't tell whether this is incompetence or unethical practice, but it's not acceptable for this brand. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere. Shame on this company.

It's a great hotel until you need a refund. I lost my ID on the day of my reservation, so they wouldn't let me check in. I understand having rules, but they then refused to refund me, claimed I'd never come in even though I was on camera asking to check in, and stopped responding by hanging up on me. I was told the money would be returned in 7-10 business days, but it still hasn't shown up. I ended up outside overnight, with temperatures as low as 9 degrees farenheight, because I couldn't afford another place. If you might need a refund, book somewhere else. They said they'd pay it and still haven't. Hopefully they change how they handle this.
