Hilton Garden Inn Rockville-Gaithersburg

Everyone was welcoming as soon as I arrived. I dropped my bags in the room, then went back down for food and drinks, and the food was delicious. I can't recall the bartender's name, but he was clearly professional and knew his stuff. Cheers to Hilton for a great stay.

Clinton provided fabulous service and was especially helpful, friendly, and welcoming. He deserves recognition. The rest of the experience was rough enough that I downgraded my review after having to change rooms in the middle of the night. At 1 AM, the front desk employee repeatedly tried to argue about how busy she was. Despite the no-smoking policy, people smoked weed in rooms and stairwells, and the smell spread through rooms and bathroom vents on other floors in the early morning. I called the desk three times before anyone answered; then I was put on hold and curtly told they'd do nothing unless cleaning staff noticed it at checkout, when they might add a charge afterward. That approach leaves rule-following guests dealing with unlivable conditions while the people causing them go undisturbed. They should also take negative guest interactions with staff seriously. This employee has come up in multiple reviews with similar concerns.

It suited me perfectly: quiet, and most of the staff were friendly. There's always one person who doesn't seem to get what service means, but it's a great place to stay overall.

We booked a night at the Hilton Garden Inn in Rockville, Maryland, after a holiday party, since we knew we'd need somewhere to sleep. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the staff really friendly. Before dinner we stopped at the bar for a drink and a bite. Shawn, the bartender, mixed great drinks and suggested a few menu items that we ordered and loved. We'll definitely be back.
