Comfort Suites Historic Route 66

I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely return. There are plenty of places to eat nearby, and even a tire shop two buildings away. Breakfast was decent, with hot, cold, and dry options. The woman running it worked hard to keep everything clean, stocked, and fresh. The room's little kitchen and living space with a daybed couch were useful extras. It was clean and smelled fresh, though a bit warm at first. The bed was comfortable and firm with plenty of pillows, and the room got dark enough for good sleep without blackout shades. The toilet was somewhat small, both in height and bowl size. Footsteps from above came through clearly. If you don't have kids, I'd suggest the top floor; if you do, staying downstairs is more considerate. The front desk attendant was professional and respectful, and the lobby, dining area, gym, pool area, conference center, and large conference room were clean and well kept. One thing I noticed was the elevator, which seemed like it might need servicing. I feel better when elevators display a current service or inspection notice. The hotel is clean and well maintained overall. A good stay.

Breakfast and the staff were good. The manager refunded part of my bill the next day, making the night a flat $50, but I felt sick from the time we left through the following week, coughing up and blowing out mucus. We started in a room in Rolla that we didn't like, so the front desk person moved us upstairs. That room's door wouldn't work and needed to be charged, so I paid $10 more for a room with a bigger jacuzzi. It was a nightmare. At about $130 a night for the weekend, I expected better. There were dead flies and wasps all over the floor, more dead flies on the AC, and blood smears on the curtains from the flies. The jacuzzi plug didn't work, and the water wouldn't get hot. The front desk person vacuumed while we were at dinner and said nobody had been in the room before us for 15 days.

We picked a quiet, comfortable room, and it was a great deal for the price. I really enjoyed breakfast: biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, and waffle machines.

I was there on a work trip for two nights. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was good, with the usual eggs, sausage, cereal, toast, and similar items. It was quiet at night, with no road noise. The bathroom felt a little neglected. There was black mold around the tub spigot, and the shower curtain was too long and wouldn't stay in place while I showered.
