Days Inn by Wyndham Rolla

The front desk staff were helpful and friendly, but there are several things that need attention. The grounds felt a little sketchy, and the field by the parking lot was full of dog poop and feral cats. Signs, poop bags, and a waste bin might help people clean up after their dogs. Inside, the chair by the sitting area was filthy with crumbs and debris, and there was dirt in the floor corners. The mini fridge barely kept things cool. The ice machine was out of order, though I could get ice from the front desk. There was only one sheet of toilet paper left on the roll, and the tissue box had just two tissues before it was empty. Fresh supplies should have been provided.

The room was clean and the bed was really comfortable, and the staff were very accommodating. Breakfast was a good-sized meal too: biscuits and gravy, orange juice, milk, coffee, and a cinnamon roll. 🙂 There’s a colony of cats in the woods behind the motel, and a kind woman is feeding them on her own. They haven’t been spayed or neutered. I was told Rolla doesn’t have a trap, spay, and release program, and I hope some pet lovers might step forward. My husband researched the Pet Exchange after a veterinarian recommended it, and it has worked very well for us. One of the first cats we did this with was born feral and now lives in my home. He’s 23 years old. Thank you, Days Inn, for letting these precious fur babies stay here. The kitties are beautiful!

For the area, the price seems fair, and the pet deposit is one of the lowest I’ve seen, $20 for a dog up to 50 lb. I also really appreciate that the pet-friendly rooms are on the first floor and have no carpet. The only drawback was the stain on the AC/heating unit. It still hadn’t been cleaned. 🤮

I only stayed one night, and I probably won’t come back. I was hoping this would become my regular stop when visiting family, but the building smelled of weed as I walked to the room with my two kids. Room 110 had peeling wallpaper, gaps between the wall trim and floor, a missing outlet cover, and mold in the bathroom. The shower soap dispensers were discolored and looked gross. One of the main entrances also had a large broken window covered with plastic and tape.
