Motel 6 Roseburg, OR

A good deal if money's tight, and I'd recommend it. The place was clean for the price, with good water pressure, an elevator, and handy vending machines in the lobby. My room had no clock, which was a bummer, and no coffee, though they had some downstairs from 6 a.m. A nearby restaurant gets great reviews from locals, but doesn't do takeout, which is crazy.

I was on the third floor last night, and the elevator wasn't working. The front desk wouldn't answer the phone. They gave me an $11 credit, but come on, if the elevator's out, I would've checked out and stayed somewhere else. Shame on management.

It cost way too much for what you get. I was quoted $53 but ended up paying $85. The place smelled like pot and cigarettes, and the beds were worn out. I'd only suggest staying here if you're in a crisis. Just don't do it.

Booking online, I was quoted one price, then got an email confirmation showing a higher amount I hadn't agreed to. I was overcharged by more than $50. Customer relations said they couldn't help and told me to contact property management. The property manager called to say I needed to go back to customer relations. After that call, my key cards were disabled even though my reservation was still active. When I went to get them reactivated, the manager didn't check my ID, just asked for my room number. That felt concerning and unsafe, since anyone at the motel could claim they'd been locked out and potentially get into another unit. I wouldn't recommend this place. If they respond to reviews, I expect it'll be a generic promise to do better without actually fixing anything. There was a hole in the wall that looked punched in, spiders in the room, and a bathtub faucet that seemed ready to fall off.
