DoubleTree by Hilton Chicago O'Hare Airport - Rosemont

The staff we met were all great, and the hotel was clean, with large rooms and a fair price. If you’re staying in or near Rosemont, it’s a good deal. I even checked the room pretty carefully for creepy crawlers and didn’t find a single sign of them. I gave it five stars because it does its job well for what it is, not because it’s a five-star hotel. You know it isn’t a Ritz Carlton or a JW Marriot going in. It wasn’t perfect, but I had no complaints about it doing what it was supposed to do.

The bar and hotel food were great, but I wouldn’t come back. My stay in room 313 was pretty miserable. There seem to be serious mold issues, the toilet kept clogging, and dripping sounds from behind the wall kept me up all night. Afterward my respiratory system was wrecked and I could barely breathe.

I’ve stayed at the DT Rosemont several times, and the rooms have always been spacious and clean. The front desk staff are professional, welcoming, and efficient at check-in and checkout. Naomi and Yesenia deserve a special mention for handling the chaos around the “furry” convention in town with such great hospitality. They’re real ambassadors for the Hilton brand. It’s easy to shop at nearby Rosemont outlets or eat at the group of restaurants by the square and park beside the hotel. For a premium steakhouse meal, Gibsons is another option. This review is a little overdue, but I wanted to mention what a pleasant stay I’ve had.

I arrived with a group in a motorcoach, and Hameed went above and beyond without being asked. The doorman and parking attendant helped with my luggage and made sure the spot I needed to park in was cleared. Show him some love next time you’re there, and please remember to tip. It’s a service position.
