Hilton Garden Inn Roseville

I had a really good stay at Hilton Garden Inn Roseville, mainly because of how the General Manager handled my complaint. He took the time to hear me out, stayed calm, and went out of his way to put things right. It was clear he cares about guests being satisfied and works hard to make sure people leave happy. With his support and leadership, the issue was resolved smoothly, and I felt valued as a guest. That kind of service makes a difference, and I'd consider staying here again. I recommend the hotel, especially for the management and customer service.

The steak was decent, and the potatoes and vegetables were really good. The breakfast burrito is legit, and big enough to split into two meals. It's an older hotel, but nice, and the gym is pretty good. The dumbbells go up to 75 lbs.

We got a towel with brown marks on it, and the restaurant was a joke. The BBQ chicken flatbread was just naan with barely any sauce and plain chicken on top. It was so dry I had to ask for more BBQ sauce, and it cost about $15. The chicken tenders were dry too, with way too much batter. The biggest headache was the pet policy confusion. On Thursday October 2, I asked to have the room cleaned and told the front desk woman to let me know when it was done so I could come back and give my cat a break from her cage. She said the policy required us to take the pet with us whenever we left the hotel, because we had to be with her all the time. When I asked to see that in writing, she couldn't find it. What she did find said that we had to be with a caged pet while the room was being cleaned, which I understand, to prevent accidents. Another employee told me there was no rule saying we had to take our cat with us whenever we went out. Please make sure the staff are on the same page. When you travel with a pet, you expect to be able to leave it at the hotel while you go to museums, water parks, malls, and other places that don't allow pets. A cat can't just go outside to use the bathroom the way a dog can on a leash, and the conflicting information really stressed us out. The hotel itself is old and needs remodeling for what it costs. The carpets are worn, and the shower doesn't have a modern detachable head, which would help me wash my toddler's hair. The only thing I liked was the closet design, with its baskets and shelves.

A big roach in the bathroom early in the morning was the worst part, and we won't stay here again. The room seemed dirty when we arrived, with hair in the sink, grimy walls, and worn, stained furniture and pillows. Right when you walk in, there's a strong musty smell, like old dirty carpet. This felt like a serious cleanliness and health issue.
