Motel 6 Rossford, OH

The beds were clean and comfy, the room was decent, and there’s a nice little spot outside to smoke cigarettes or whatever. If the dog urine smell weren’t there, and if they cleaned rooms for long-term guests more often, it’d be a four-star place. All in all, it was good.

You get what you pay for. The hallway smelled like weed, and the odor got into my room. It was so dim that I had to use a battery lantern from my camping gear. I noticed ant traps and part of a food wrapper under the bed while trying to work out why the bed lights didn’t work. The room was really dark, the ice machine was out of order, and the sheets looked very old and badly worn.

I’ve traveled all over the U.S., and this is the best Motel Six I’ve ever visited. The service was absolutely wonderful, the rooms were beautiful, clean, and up to date, and it was definitely worth the cost.

Check-in was quick and friendly, and the room was beautifully painted and very clean. But there were too many problems for a better rating. We had no glasses or shampoo, and the TV remote didn’t work. Staff went through three remotes before finding one that did. There was also a long stretch of profane shouting in the hallway outside our room, which made us feel uneasy. The couple managing the hotel responded well to the room issues, but it was still a lot to deal with.
