Best Western El Rancho Palacio

The welcome and check-in were pleasant and polite, and I loved the old courtyard style, the large rooms, the very clean breakfast area, and being able to drive right up to the room. I didn't expect such a great stay from an older Best Western, but it exceeded my expectations. I've stayed in hundreds, if not thousands, of hotel rooms. We come through Roswell once a year, have tried many of the other places, and this was the best. We'll definitely stay here from now on.

After a day getting sandblasted at the wind farm and finding no showers at the Truckstop, I booked a room here. There's one truck spot, and it was open that night. They seem to be updating the property, so they gave me a second-floor room. I wasn't thrilled about being upstairs, but it was right by the stairs and quiet all night. The room was large, the TV was a nice size, and the bathroom was adequate with good shower pressure. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, but I was beat and got pizza so I could clean up and sleep. Staff were friendly and helpful, from my call about truck parking to check-in. If I'm back for that crazy wind farm, I'll stay again. Hopefully I'll get a first-floor room.

The staff were friendly and the facilities were well maintained, but that didn't matter when I couldn't rest. I was put in ground-floor Room 186, where the soundproofing might as well not exist. All night I heard every footstep from the guests above me, and the adjoining interior door let in everything from next door. The neighbors coughed all night, sounding like they were right in my room. What began as an acceptable stay turned into a nightmare. I'll never stay here again, and I definitely don't recommend this hotel.

The staff were welcoming and really helpful, and the included breakfast was nice. This economical place was built in 2017, with lots of restaurants within walking distance. I was surprised by the open ceilings, a throwback to before the 80s, and the painted, exposed heavy rafters give the large top-floor room some character. I'd originally wanted a king room, but none was available. The two double beds turned out to be super comfortable, and we both slept soundly all night. I've never walked into a room that smelled so fresh. The Air Wick plug-ins are a smashing hit and should be a suggestion for the whole chain.
