La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Roswell

Dawn made breakfast one of the best we’ve had, and she was so friendly and good at her job. She deserves a raise! The staff were the bright spot overall. The room had dirt in the tub, a loose faucet, and holes in the wall by the desk. Also, if there’s a pet charge, someone should be picking up the dog waste outside. There was so much of it, it felt like walking through a minefield. One employee could probably clear it in half an hour a day.

The young woman at the front desk was really kind, and the staff handled my complaints with understanding. They fixed everything, thankfully. But the room was so dirty that I had to clean it myself and make the bed again because there was hair in the sheets. I used to work as a housekeeper, and I wouldn’t have been allowed to leave with a bed looking as wrinkled as it did. The housekeeping here needs to do better.

The front desk staff were pleasant and quickly moved me to another king suite when I reported a sewer smell in my first room. That one seemed fine at first, but by about 1 a.m. the same smell had crept in. I’m a middle-aged woman traveling for business, and the room also had plaster dust on the bathroom floor and other cosmetic problems. The hot tub had apparently been out of order for more than two months, too. This LaQuinta seems to be turning into a Days Inn and going downhill. I wouldn’t recommend it based on the condition, though the staff were great.

The breakfast was a real highlight, with hot waffles and eggs plus green onions, shredded cheese, biscuits and gravy, and several salsas. I also tried the pool, hot tub, and gym, and all were top notch. The hotel was quiet and well kept, and the service was friendly. You can tell the staff and management care. A welcome stop, and I’d come back.
