I booked through a third-party site, Capital One, and requested a specific layout: one living space with two separate rooms and two double beds. My card was charged in advance, and the booking was non-refundable. At check-in they said that room wasn’t available and offered two separate rooms instead. Each had only one bed, not the two doubles I requested, and they said there were no other rooms, so I was stuck with them. I tried to stay positive, but at checkout I saw my debit card had been charged for the rooms as well as an incidentals deposit. They said those charges would drop off since my credit card was already charged. Two days later, the charge posted to my bank account, so I’d been charged twice. The receptionist told me to call later for a manager. I did and spoke with Elizabeth, who said she’d look into it and call me back. She never did. When I called again, Elizabeth wasn’t in, and they said they’d leave her a message. I still haven’t heard back. I was charged on both my credit card and bank account. Beware!

Horrible. The breakfast was pitiful, and there wasn’t even coffee in the dining room. The bathtub had hair in it, and the sink or dishwasher was leaking. The TVs were tiny and outdated, with only basic channels and no streaming or other options. The furniture was torn and worn, caulk was coming off in lots of places, and the ice maker door had fallen off. There was no flatware in the room. As a Titanium member, I found this nowhere near the Marriott standards we’re used to.

I can’t recommend this Residence Inn by Marriott Austin Round Rock/Dell Way. The room gets a 1 from me, and in-person service at best a 2. Staff at the desk were friendly face to face, but the help I needed after checkout was a different story. I left a valuable item behind and called around midday to ask if it had been found. They said no, took my details, and promised to check and call back. No call came. Two days later I called again and learned they had found it but hadn’t told me. By then, I’d spent hours tearing apart my car and luggage looking for it. They said Marriott uses iLeftMyStuff, a third-party service, to arrange shipping. I was told entering the details would take a few minutes so I could get a payment link, and they’d do it right away. After 24 hours with no email or text, I called and learned they’d forgotten again. This kept happening: promises, then no follow-through. One time, a task they called a quick 5 to 10 minutes took nearly two hours. Shipping cost $40.05 for USPS Ground for a small, lightweight package going only about 120 miles. Faster options were over $70. They wouldn’t arrange weekend pickup, even though USPS offers free Saturday pickup, which caused more delay after they finally processed my request on the weekend. I paid, but the hotel still didn’t click “accept” or print the label. On Tuesday, after iLeftMyStuff emailed to say the hotel hadn’t done its part and that was causing the delay, I had to call for the fourth time to remind them. They still didn’t print it until the next day. From my first call to delivery, it took 11 days. Once USPS had the package, it arrived in two days, so the other nine days of delay were entirely on the hotel’s end. The property itself felt old and worn. My room was dark and slightly dirty, with several dim or failing lights, a broken stove light, and only one truly bright fixture in the bathroom. It was hard to see at night. The bathroom badly needs remodeling: the tub caulk needs replacing, there was rust and dirt around the door frame and hinge, and the mirror was peeling. The sink stopper got stuck closed, leaving the sink full of water during my stay. At night, I found a cockroach in the bathroom. I included a photo. The luggage cart was loud, squeaky, somewhat dirty, and in need of maintenance. Getting it through the entrance was awkward: there are two doors without motion sensors, and you have to press the handicap buttons. They only stay open briefly, leaving little time and space to get through before they close. The parking lot was poorly lit, which made the property feel unsafe at night, and the lot needs repaving. Breakfast was below what I expect from a Residence Inn. There was no waffle maker, the eggs tasted old or low quality, and the selection was limited. The desk may seem pleasant while you’re there, but when I needed help, staff repeatedly failed to follow through despite several calls and assurances. If you need help during your stay, their service might be great. Good luck if you need anything afterward.

We were tired during a long drive and were lucky they had a room available. Shanteal at the front desk was so sweet and helpful, and even recommended places to eat nearby. The hotel was clean and breakfast was good. Housekeeping could’ve been a little better, but overall we had a good experience.

The front desk staff were professional, kind, and helpful. The hotel was clean, but very dingy and outdated. Everything you look at is old or damaged, including the TVs, which only have cable and no streaming. The rooms don’t smell bad, but they don’t smell good either. This is the most outdated Residence Inn I’ve stayed at, and I won’t be back.
