The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the place is a short walk from the small downtown shopping area. The room definitely needs a remodel and shows its age. My bed wasn’t comfortable, even with a memory foam topper. The accordion bathroom door needs to go. It doesn’t close properly and blocks no sound, so you can hear everything happening in there. If you want a cheaper place right downtown, it’s not a bad option, but if you can spend a bit more, I’d pick somewhere else.

There were maintenance problems that should’ve been taken care of before check-in. I hope they took my suggestions seriously. This place could be great, but right now it’s only okay.

Surrounded by forest and trees, these little cabins made such a lovely setting, especially for someone from tempe, az. They were quaint and clean, and I loved them. I'll stay again.

The pool was being maintained while we were there, so hopefully we can use it on our next visit. That aside, we really enjoyed our stay at West Winds. The room was even better than the photos, with plenty of space, a cozy feel, clean surroundings, a great bed, and decoration that made us want to spend more time inside. The location couldn't be better. This is definitely where I'll stay in Ruidoso again. Highly recommended.

The room was just the right size for me, my fiancée, and our two fur babies, and we had a nice, pleasant stay. It was also in a great location. I only wish there had been a kitchen table for meals.
