The breakfast bar was clean, though I wish there’d been another protein option. It was two trays of biscuits and one of gravy, and eggs or sausage would have been nice. My only other issue was the TV, which had some kind of problem: I couldn’t watch anything online and could only get cable, while my family in another room had no trouble. I was pleasantly surprised, since I’d expected less. The room was really nice and clean, and the bed was comfy. I also appreciated that they truly welcome pets, including cats, which are often either banned or treated differently from dogs. The front desk girl was kind enough to arrange for our rooms to stay next to each other. Great value for what I needed, and I’d stay again.

I’ve been in Russel for more than two months and now stay here regularly. It’s very close to the highway, and the rooms have been neat and comfortably clean. The beds are nice, though nothing extravagant. Breakfast is consistent and good, with biscuits and gravy, waffles, two or three cereal choices, and a few other things. The coffee was watery twice, as far as I recall, and they could add eggs or sausage. There are several restaurants and fast food places across the street if you want more food.

I’m in Russell every two months and always stay here. The price is right, the staff are friendly, and the room is clean with a comfortable bed. I like having coffee in the room, and this time I especially enjoyed the fitness center, with its treadmill and elliptical.

I’m glad the cancellation email didn’t land in spam, because otherwise we might have arrived without a reservation. There were virtually no other hotels available that close to the tournament. I booked online for state wrestling weekend, then got an email saying the reservation had been canceled. When I called, I was told the room I’d booked had “electrical problems,” but they offered no alternative. I asked about switching to another available room and was told to check availability online myself. I find it hard to believe the electrical issue wouldn’t be resolved before our stay, and it was especially disappointing that nobody tried to help during a busy state tournament weekend in Hays. Other rooms were still showing online, which made it more frustrating. Very disappointing experience and poor customer service.

A decent hotel for a road trip overnight, but breakfast was a little lacking. The hot bar only had biscuits and gravy, with no eggs or sausage. Maybe they were still getting food ready, since breakfast started at 6:30AM and we went down around then.
