Clarion Inn & Suites Russellville I40

We should’ve left and found another hotel. Room 201 was filthy: stains on the sheets, pillows and cases, and comforters, plus hair everywhere on the shower and bathroom floor. There was no hot water, just a lukewarm shower, and a dog barked nonstop and woke us up. I work in the cleaning industry, and this isn’t acceptable. They need better housekeeping or better inspectors.

The sheets were clean and the water was hot, but I probably wouldn’t stay again. We booked because Expedia had really good reviews, though the pictures seem to be from better days. The room was clean but needed work, with frayed carpet and chewed-up furniture. Breakfast was okay, but there were signs everywhere saying you couldn’t take food out of the breakfast room. What?

Some of the rooms smell like weed, and there are a lot of drug deals going on around the back by the old rooms. My sister and I stay here every weekend, and usually the people are very nice and welcoming, but this weekend wasn’t good. When we left, they took an extra $75 from my card for a stain we didn’t even make. I won’t be back, and I’ll warn people to be careful because they like to charge extra for things that aren’t true.

The room was spotless, and after a long drive the whirlpool tub was just what we needed. We stayed one night in a suite. The building looks old, but it’s been renovated. The young man at the desk made us feel welcome and explained everything we needed to know. We also liked the food and drinks at the bar, and the location is handy for I-40.
