My wife had to fill the toilet by hand because it wasn’t taking on water or even making a sound when she tried to flush. I’d just driven for 14 hours and was exhausted. I also found black mold, or some kind of black stuff, on the pillows when I checked them. This was hands down the worst hotel experience I’ve had. I won’t go back to any Wyndham resorts or hotels. Absolutely ridiculous. DO NOT COME HERE. Check-in was at 4 am. I wasn’t expecting anything special, but the front desk man was asleep on the lobby couch with his shoes off. I had to ring the bell to wake him and get him to the window. I’d reserved earlier that evening and was told checking in at 4 am on the 9th for my 9th-10th stay would be okay. Apparently it wasn’t, so I had to cancel and change the booking, paying $100 for less than eight hours in the room. Then our first room’s door was wide open. I don’t know if some random person had been sleeping there, but I refused to stay in it. I went back to the desk, got another room, and the man came with us to make sure it looked okay. It seemed fine until we found the toilet problem. DO NOT COME HERE.

We found the room and service pleasing, and when we chose to stay one more day, they let us keep the same room and made it easy for us. It was clean enough to feel like home, and the amenities matched what was described. The TV and remote made it simple to find our usual evening shows, which isn’t always true in motels and hotels these days. Everyone we dealt with was polite, friendly, and accommodating. As senior citizens, we appreciated that.

The area wasn’t the best, but as a single mom traveling with two kids, I never felt unsafe. The lot was clean and nobody was hanging around outside. Inside, the room was spacious and very clean, and the shower pressure was the best I’ve had in a motel. Hot water, too. The staff were amazing, and everything was as it should be. This Super 8 beat my expectations. You usually know what you’re getting when you book a motel, but this was great for the price. Actually, just a great stay.

The room was comfortable and well appointed, and I could easily set the temperature. The mattress felt soft but still supportive. Best of all, turning off the lights actually made the room dark. No parking lot light shining in through the window. I know what to expect from Super 8, and this one exceeded it. The room was very clean, too. I’d stay here again when I’m passing through Ruston.

There were roaches coming out of the shower grout, and the room reeked. I’m actually a smoker and had booked a smoking room, but the smoke engulfed you as soon as you walked in. The neighborhood wasn’t the best either. This is one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at. If I could give it zero stars, I would. I won’t come back or give them my money. Wyndham needs to investigate.
