Quality Inn & Suites

The room and bathroom were clean, and the floors were clean too. The bed was very comfortable, with plenty of fluffy pillows. The hotel could use some painting and freshening up, and it wasn't silent: you could hear TVs, guests coming and going, and trucks on the highway. But it's a highway stop for one night, not an island oasis, and it's not priced like one. When I arrived at Quality Inn, a friendly, helpful gentleman quickly handled my reservation. Since it was icy and I didn't want to go out, I asked about a local restaurant that delivers. He helped order the food on his PC, then brought it over from the front desk when it arrived. That's service. I couldn't get the Wi-Fi connected, but had cell service. I left at 5am and couldn't try breakfast. I hadn't read the reviews before booking, and might not have stayed if I had. I had two rooms. One had roaches, and the other had a tub as dirty as the patched-up walls and ceiling. There was a hole in the floor, the TV didn't work, the refrigerator was hot, and the phone wasn't connected. This place needs to be torn down and rebuilt.

The rooms are nice, and the prices are excellent for what you get. Don't book expecting five stars and then complain when that's not what you knew you were getting. For the price, it has everything you need, and I'd still recommend it. The location is handy right off the highway for a stop, but if you're looking for a little nightlife or a chain of stores, you'll have to go 12 miles down the road. No worries for me.

My family and I were gone within five minutes. The service wasn't bad, but the rooms were disgusting. White stains covered the floor in the first hallway, and the whole hotel smelled like smoke. There was a dead roach on the floor, stains all over the bed, and hair on one of the beds. I'd give it zero stars if I could, but the site wouldn't let me.
