Holiday Inn Express Salado-Belton by IHG

Two days before our event, the manager called to say she couldn’t honor our reservation for two queen beds and could only offer a king. I’d booked months earlier, and about a month before arrival I’d asked customer service to note that we had four people and couldn’t be moved to a king, since Holiday Inn had done that to me before. The manager could see my note. I asked her to move someone who’d booked later, and she said that was what she was doing. But people in my group who booked after us kept their rooms, despite having fewer people. I was the one who’d told everyone to book at Holiday Inn, and learning the manager had lied really bothered me. They should have offered us two king rooms at the price of our two-queen reservation. Instead, we were scrambling for another room just two days before the event. What’s the point of making a reservation if they won’t keep it or make things right? I’ve tried to stick with Holiday Inn when we travel, but now they’ve let me down twice.

We’ve stayed here in December for the past couple of years. The staff are always kind and accommodating, and the room upgrades they completed this year are wonderful.

The rooms were very nice and clean. When we pulled in, several deer were standing in the yard. You can hear some road noise from I-35, but it wasn’t bad with the fan running.

The place was clean, and the staff were very friendly. During a crisis, Molly on the late night shift was especially kind and understanding, and went out of her way to help solve my problems. I had a wonderful stay.
