Inn on the Creek

The owner made our family feel welcome right when we arrived. They were hands-on, hospitable, and attentive to all the details. The property was clean, charming, and well maintained, and we’d happily stay again. Our anniversary dinner at Alexander’s was memorable too. The staff added thoughtful, personal touches that made the evening feel special. We highly recommend the Inn.

We picked Inn on the Creek for our first trip to Salado because it looked so beautiful online, and it lived up to that impression. Everyone working there was friendly and helpful, and dinner at Alexander’s Kitchen was perfect. It was such a warm, lovely experience. I hope the good spirit of this place carries on. I’m sorry if others have had a bad visit, but maybe they could give it another try. Thanks for everything. Staying here made us love Salado even more. 😄

We had a great time in the Fowler room. The accommodations were good, and the included breakfast was delicious. From the covered back patio, the views of the creek were amazing. We watched deer in the morning and again in the evening. We’ll be back.

My wife and I booked this venue for our wedding this month and signed the contract last December. The man who signed it with us was apparently fired before the wedding, and it seems the arrangements went with him. We’d been told my wife could use a separate bungalow both the day before and the day of the wedding, then move to the “honeymoon suite” that night. It was in a four-suite building separate from the inn. We were also meant to have the bungalow for a day afterward so it could be cleaned. Before the wedding we met Amie, the new manager, who was unreliable and kept blaming other people for promises she’d made. The worst of it was that they booked a family reunion for the same weekend and double-booked both the bungalow and the “honeymoon suite.” They had to scramble to fit us in, even though the schedule had been clear when we paid the deposit. My wife and her bridesmaids were put in a bungalow room with no beds, while the rooms that had beds were occupied by the reunion group. To make up for it, they gave us the “Rose Room” in the inn as the groom/honeymoon suite, a stocked minibar, and refreshments for the groom party in the main inn before the ceremony. They also promised us a complimentary day for all the problems, but apparently that never happened. Someone tried to unlock and open the door while my wife was undressed. Amie went on “vacation” for a week that turned into three, overlapping the meeting we’d planned a month out to finalize the details. On the wedding day, the reunion was still happening, and other people came to look over the venue. I could list more ways things went wrong, but I’ll stop here so people actually read this. Our day was beautiful despite the broken promises and mess-ups, thanks to our family stepping up to make it happen.
