Courtyard by Marriott Salina

I’ve stayed here more than once and found the rooms clean, comfortable, and functional. It’s handy when I’m traveling on I-70, and the staff were friendly. For an overnight stop, I’d recommend it, though I’d choose somewhere else for a longer stay because of a few inconveniences. The hotel feels dated: the bedside light controls were hard to use, especially if your fingers aren’t very dexterous, and there’s no bathroom night-light. The bathroom door was loud and difficult to close, which disturbed my roommate. Also, the TV doesn’t have streaming services, which I’d expect at a Marriott.

On the night of the 22nd, the manager and employee took great care of me and made sure I was safe. Their customer service was outstanding. If you’re choosing among hotels around here, pick this one. I won’t book anywhere else on my trips.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the desk setup worked well for getting work done while traveling. There’s also Starbucks. The front desk woman was so welcoming at check-in, and the whole front area smelled lovely. I’m on my tenth Marriott stay this year, and this is a nice hotel. It isn’t the Ritz, but it also doesn’t cost $300-plus a night, so I don’t get some of the bad reviews. Maybe the lighting could be better, but that’s not a big deal. What stands out is the service. At 10 pm I went downstairs for water, and the night manager got it for me and even apologized that I’d had to come down. I’ve stayed in much bigger, pricier hotels that did less. Thanks, everyone, you’re doing a wonderful job!

We only stayed one night, and both the staff and room were great. I took off a star because I wish the booking had mentioned the construction outside. When we pulled into the lot, we thought the hotel was closed.
