Village Inn

I stayed in May 2025. Village Inn looks like it dates to around the 1960s, and my room was outdated, but it was clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly, the service was good, and the motel seemed well managed. You can tell they take pride in the place. A few things would've been good to know before booking: there was no breakfast, so budget for that. The shower head in our room was so low that my 5'2" kid had to bend a little to get under it. There were only three outlets in the whole room, bathroom included, and the bathroom outlet powered both the microwave and fridge. A power strip was plugged into an outlet controlled by the light switch, so charging electronics took some figuring out, but we managed. Cleanliness, upkeep, and friendly staff all get five stars.

The owners were super friendly and went out of their way for me, even letting me check in a day early. It's a quiet place to sleep, with no noisy neighbors, and I could park right by the front door. The beds were new and very comfortable. It's not fancy, but it's clean and has plenty of hot water. An excellent motel.

The room looked clean when we arrived, but I woke up being bitten and found a bedbug on the top sheet. I told the female owner, who denied there was a problem. There wasn't a coffee pot in the room, and no hair dryer either, though they did give me one from the office. I definitely wouldn't stay again. I'd upload a photo of the bug, but there's no option to add pictures.

Keep your vehicle locked, even if you're stepping away for a second. I came back out to find a guy rummaging through my car. There are much safer places in Salina, and I can't recommend this one. Good luck if you decide to stay anyway.
