Motel 6 Salinas, CA - North Monterey Area

Motel 6 staff, thank you. Everyone was excellent, professional, helpful, and accommodating. We had our dog with us and nobody rushed us out of the room. Cleaning worked around our schedule because of the dog, and we got fresh, clean linen every day.

The stay itself was fine, but trying to get invoices for my visits turned into a miserable phone call. I was put on hold for over 20 minutes. I know they may be busy, so I waited. When the front desk woman picked up, she said hello and hung up before I could speak. I called back and explained what had happened, but there was no empathy. They yelled at me for not understanding they were busy, even though I'd just spent 20 minutes waiting. Giving them my name and email was a pain too. I had to repeat everything while they spoke to me with a horrible attitude. Maybe their phone is broken and can't pick up customers' voices, I don't know. Whoever handled the call needs basic customer service training, or just basic respect for people. I don't expect top-notch service at a Motel-6 price, but being yelled at and treated like trash isn't okay.

The room wasn't suitable for my three kids, and I wouldn't bring family here for a quick sleep. The heat was set to 80° but blew freezing air because the whole system was busted. The toilet wouldn't flush, and spots behind it hadn't been cleaned. We paid for two queen beds, but got two full beds with terrible pillows and bedding. Next door, someone banged on the walls from midnight until morning, with a loud sound like something was being smashed.

My husband and I stayed here while recovering after our annual health exam, and it was the right choice. We had a clean, cozy room with a TV, internet, microwave, and refrigerator, and could relax watching TV. The prices were fantastic, about half what ordinary hotels charge. Service was amazing too. Everyone on the Motel 6 team was polite and friendly. We plan to return. Thank you for the great service!
