Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City

The only thing that stood out in a negative way was one valet attendant, who I think was named Quinn. He seemed irritated and gave me some attitude when I chose valet. It wasn't a major problem, though. The hotel itself was modern, clean, and in a great downtown spot, with comfortable rooms and friendly, professional staff throughout. I'd definitely stay again.

The hotel is clean and otherwise well managed, with friendly staff and good food options. The valet guys do their best with the traffic at the entrance, but the drop-off area doesn't allow for proper temporary parking. Cars end up lined up on the street during check-in, so be prepared to wait to get your car parked. Valet handles a bad layout as well as they can, but there's only so much they can do. We're on our fourth night, and our backs have hurt each morning from the beds. Sleep needs vary, so they may be fine for someone else. Coffee is sold at the main-floor market and there's a Keurig in the room, but depending on the time, it can be lukewarm. At least there's a microwave by the coffee area to heat it. Better coffee warmers would help. I'd give it four stars because there's no room service, the coffee is often lukewarm, and parking takes time due to the layout.

The staff's response turned what might have been a two or three star stay into a five star one. The room had no mini fridge, just a "cooler" that kept drinks and food at about 45 degrees. We'd planned to keep drinks cold and save leftovers, so I asked the front desk if they might have an actual fridge. They brought one up and plugged it in right away, and were incredibly gracious about it. All the staff were top notch. The room itself loses points for the cooler situation and for having no rugs or other soft flooring. It felt cold and echoey, with sound bouncing around. I'd suggest management replace the coolers with mini fridges and add small machine-washable rugs or runners. Still, it was a great experience.

I felt well looked after throughout my stay. The front desk staff were exceptionally kind, patient, and thoughtful, and they quickly helped me sort out several problems. They made everything smooth and stress-free, and the service went beyond what I expected. This was the best hotel I've stayed at in Salt Lake City. If I come back to SLC, I'll absolutely stay here again. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
