Kimpton Hotel Monaco Salt Lake City by IHG

We were welcomed in the lobby with hot apple cider, which was such a nice touch. The staff were helpful and friendly, especially Sebastian and the whole valet team. The hotel was beautiful and clean, and pets were very welcome with amenities for them too. The food was great and room service was quick. It's close to the airport and to everything you'd want to do in the city. I loved our weekend here and would come back in a heartbeat.

That soft king bed got me a full nine hours of sleep, which never happens since I usually sleep no more than six. We were upgraded to a one bedroom suite, room 303, and it was fantastic: a separate living area with a desk, TV, fridge, couch, and chair, plus great views. The bathroom had lovely smelling soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Check-in was super quick, and I checked out in the IHG app. We come to Hotel Monaco every year for a staycation, and this reminded me why. Parking in the garage next door is now $36 overnight, up from $30 last year. Wonderful stay.

We got around easily on foot, so not renting a car worked out well. The coffee and tea bar in the mornings was a big help, and the restaurant food was delicious. Catherine, the hotel manager, gave amazing customer service. She even noticed from my fiancé's ID that it was his birthday. The whole staff was lovely, and we had a wonderful time.

The clean room, comfortable bed, and walkable location made for a pleasant stay overall. There are good restaurants and things to do nearby, and the hotel itself was nice. I was traveling with my cat and had arranged ahead of time for a litter box with litter and food bowls to be in the room. They agreed, since we had to head straight to dinner after check-in, but nothing was there when we arrived. I waited about 20 minutes after checking in for the items to be brought up. Breakfast was good once we got a table, but we were told we couldn't use the breakfast credit without a reservation. Eventually they said we could eat if we waited an hour for a table. I wish they'd told us before or at check-in that reservations were needed, or that the wait could be over an hour.
