Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek

The outside doesn’t make the Marriott look like much, but the inside is elegant. I attended an event there the other evening and had a great experience. The lobby and ballrooms were well kept, and everyone on staff was welcoming. The buffet food was delicious and well seasoned, making this a good venue for large parties. Parking was standard, though the spaces were tight. Keep that in mind if you’re bringing a larger vehicle.

After four years apart, I experienced a deeply emotional reunion, filled with a mother’s pure love. That moment will stay in my heart forever, and everyone who cared for us at Marriott helped make it even more meaningful. The warmth, respect, and dedication we received made our stay wonderful. Every kind gesture and thoughtful word brought a sense of peace and care, and let us enjoy our time fully. Thank you for being part of such an important memory. The downtown location was a real plus, close to City Creek, restaurants, and shopping, and the staff we met were friendly and responsive, especially at the front desk. But at this price, I expected more. Our bed was much firmer than I like. As a side sleeper, my arm kept falling asleep, so I had to sleep on my back. The closet’s sliding glass doors kept jumping off their tracks and were hard to move. Maintenance came while we were out, but they were still difficult afterward, so we mostly left them open. There was no free water in the room, just $9 bottles. Water in the lobby was available, but going downstairs each time wasn’t convenient. Housekeeping knocked at 8:15 AM one morning. They were polite, but the early visit meant our room was cleaned only once during our four-night stay. On the first day, we also had to unclog the shower drain ourselves because it had a lot of hair in it. The garage cost $29 a night, and its badge system often failed. We frequently had to call for help just to get out, which was frustrating given the price. The location and staff were good, but the room problems and extra hassles made the stay feel overpriced.

The hotel is right across from the conference center, and the lobby feels welcoming. I liked having a Starbucks inside. The rooms were clean, the showers nice, and the hotel was generally quiet. The airport is about 20 to 25 minutes away. I came by rideshare, so I never used the valet or had to deal with parking. There’s a restaurant in the hotel, but I haven’t tried it. There aren’t many dining options nearby, which is the main downside. I’d stay here again.
