Best Western Garden Inn

My mom stayed here November 27th-November 28th. The room seemed not to have been properly cleaned before she moved in. Her sheets had pet hair and a faint blood stain near the bottom, the carpet was dirty, and she described the room as smelling like an ashtray with a tinge of mold, which is detrimental to her health and unacceptable. A worker who banged on her door was rude. They charged her $204 for a pet fee after telling her she’d be charged $100 for her ESA animal. That conversation was recorded. I called the hotel three times this morning after she told me about the extra charge, but nobody answered. We live in Northern Texas, and I’m willing to drive down and speak with someone about what feels like unfair, racial and biased treatment. I’ve also contacted my attorney about the charge and the ESA. She called when she checked in and showed me the room. When she complained, I told her to make the best of it. If I’d known they’d charge double what she was told, I’d have told her to ask for a credit or a room change. Normally I wouldn’t intervene, but I feel they took advantage of my mom because she’s a woman, and a minority. I hope the hotel corrects this error or frivolous activity with her debit card. For this area and the run down building, $149 for one night is highway robbery. I’d warn anyone thinking of staying here. If they don’t make it right, let this be a lesson. They’ll scam and rip you off.

There’s a late night entrance with bullet proof glass, and the neighborhood seems like it may be bad. This is a true motel, with room doors opening to the outside. The place smells of mold and old cigarette smoke. I wouldn’t book another night, and I don’t recommend it. I’ll make do for now.

The rooms were great and the service was too. Franklin was a huge help and such a good employee. Thanks to him and all the staff for a wonderful stay. Everyone was helpful and accommodating!
