Canopy by Hilton San Antonio Riverwalk

Canopy by Hilton San Antonio Riverwalk has a great spot right on the River Walk, so restaurants, shops, and attractions are only steps away. The hotel itself is beautiful, with modern décor and a welcoming feel that made me comfortable right away. Every staff member I spoke with was friendly, attentive, and ready to help. The service really added to the stay. I’d gladly return and recommend it to anyone visiting San Antonio.

The restaurant’s $6 coffee is my one complaint. It uses up the daily credit fast, and I know the credit doesn’t go far to begin with, but that price feels like a bit much. Otherwise, I love the property. It’s really nice and close to everything, and everyone has been helpful and courteous. The bartenders at Otro are friendly and great. Their drinks menu focuses on San Antonio. It was a little cool during our stay, but that’s just life. I’d gladly stay again.

I’ve booked 13 days here, and my first impressions have been excellent. The room is among the cleanest and best-kept I’ve stayed in, with clear attention to detail. The River Walk location is ideal, close to restaurants, paths, and local attractions. I’m looking forward to trying the amenities during the rest of my stay. As a Hilton Diamond member who’s stayed at many Hilton properties, I can say John at the front desk was the most welcoming and professional team member I’ve encountered. He made check-in smooth and warm, while being efficient, personable, and attentive. Highly recommend the property, and thanks again to John for such a great start. For parking, Houston Street Garage was convenient, an easy short walk, and more than fairly priced.

There’s plenty of comfortable seating around the hotel, and Otro Bar has indoor seats plus a stylish lounge where you can relax without heading out to the Riverwalk. Domingo’s downstairs was another highlight, with quality farm-to-table food. The dining options are a real convenience. Our room was compact but thoughtfully laid out, with a modern rustic look, stained concrete floors instead of carpet, sliding barn doors, and a relaxing, spa-like bathroom. I especially liked the in-room Nespresso machine, which made mornings easy, and the bed was very comfortable. We booked a top-floor “river view” room. You can see the river, but a large tree blocks part of the view, so don’t expect a wide-open Riverwalk panorama. It’s a stylish hotel in a convenient location with nice amenities, just keep that in mind if the view is your main reason for booking.
