Drury Inn & Suites San Antonio Northwest Medical Center

The staff were incredibly welcoming and kind, and there’s a good restaurant next door, Embers, with HEB across the highway for anything you need. WiFi worked well for work, too. The room was spacious and super clean, though a little dated. The free dinner and snacks were awesome, with plenty to eat, and I got a complimentary alcoholic drink. The room’s age mattered less to me than the space and the rest of the stay.

The location made getting out tricky, since the hotel sits by two busy streets and a freeway ramp. The gated lot was easy for pedestrians to access, so it didn’t feel especially secure, and the lighting was dim. A couple of restaurants are walkable, including one right next door. Inside, the hotel feels older, with low ceilings near the slow elevators. It seemed to have a mix of guests, perhaps because it’s near the medical center. Breakfast was the usual Drury spread of potatoes, eggs, biscuits, and sausage. Still, the staff were friendly, the room was clean, and I had a good experience overall.

I stayed for two weeks, and the one thing I’d change is the food rotation. The same basic hot breakfast appeared every day, scrambled eggs cooked the same way, sausage, and potatoes. After a week it got boring, and two weeks of the same menu was too much. Aside from that, the hotel did a great job. Housekeeping serviced the room daily, reception was friendly and accommodating, and the facilities were generally well maintained. Ana deserves special mention for being a star at customer service. The free alcoholic drinks were a great inclusion, and I’d come back because of the service. Great work overall!

The employees who looked after us were so professional, I almost wanted to take the whole place home with me, including them. The fountain drink machine was another favorite. I slept like a baby in a cloud-soft bed, and it was so quiet I couldn’t hear the other guests. Breakfast and dinner were both 10/10. This is the best Inn and Suites in San Antonio, as far as I’m concerned. Booking online was easy, and we were handed our keys when we arrived. I could write a whole book about the place, but I’ll just say I’m obsessed and will be back soon. Drury is the G.O.A.T. of Inn and Suites.
