Embassy Suites by Hilton San Antonio Landmark

We chose this hotel for our wedding weekend and stayed four days. Most of the bridal party stayed here too. The location was perfect, and the staff were great. The place was decorated for Christmas, and the bar was awesome. Those complimentary drinks from 5-7 were just right when we got back from wedding events or before heading out. Breakfast was great, and the elevators were fast, a definite plus in a big hotel. Our king suite was beautiful, but the bed squeaked like crazy whenever we moved, the TVs were hard to use, and both clocks and TVs showed the wrong time. The living-room rug was curled up and a serious trip hazard. The AC and heater were no good, swinging between too hot and too cold. Biggest gripe: we paid $1200 for four nights and still had to pay for parking each day. Guests staying at the hotel shouldn’t be charged to park. Charging visitors makes more sense. Still, we’re glad we picked it for the weekend.

We picked this hotel because I was visiting family, and felt welcome as soon as we checked in. After our 15-hour drive, Rachel at the front desk went over everything clearly, asked if we needed anything extra, and made us feel valued as Hilton Honors members. We’ll book here again when I’m back in town.

The hotel itself was clean and nice, and the staff were good, but Saturday night was awful for sleep. A club across the street blasted music all night, loud enough to keep my six-month-old awake. The staff kindly moved us to another room. If you need to sleep on a weekend, this location gets a 0/10.

Breakfast was delicious and filling, a great start before my doctor’s appointment. The kitchen staff made us feel so welcome, and I want to recognize Patty, Fenway, Jenny, and Jose for their hard work. Marcos also deserves a shoutout for his people skills on Thursday afternoon. He made my friend and me feel extremely welcome. Staff like this make customers feel valued, and I hope they get a raise or at least a gift card.
