Hilton Garden Inn San Antonio At The Rim

The building looks good inside and out, and the front desk staff were great about answering my questions and concerns. Breakfast staff were polite and seemed on top of things. But my room and housekeeping experience made the stay frustrating, and I won’t be back or recommend it. The sheet had what looked like a lipstick stain, which made me wonder if the bedding was being washed. That was disgusting. I also needed towels and couldn’t get help from housekeeping: one woman said she didn’t speak English and told me to ask the front desk, and another said the same. They were on their phones and didn’t acknowledge customers. I wasn’t visiting a foreign country, and it was frustrating that none of the housekeepers spoke English. They need a mix of staff who can communicate with American guests. One woman just looked at me when I asked for towels.

The bedding and room weren’t clean, and breakfast wasn’t included even though I’m a Hilton Silver member and had been assured it came with my reservation. The woman at check-in was very professional; the woman at checkout was extremely rude. There are plenty of other hotels nearby, so I wouldn’t recommend this one.

We were comfortable during our one-night stay, and the staff were really nice. It’s a cute little hotel. I believe there’s complimentary breakfast, but we didn’t get a chance to try it. We found parking, though it wasn’t ideal, and I think it was $10 a night.

I usually pick Hilton because the hotels are supposed to be nice, but this one felt closer to Motel 6 or Super 8 quality. The hallway outside our room smelled strongly of cat pee, and the bathroom had wallpaper coming off, a loose toilet, and a blood spot on the inside of the door. The picture looked like it had been dipped in the tub and was still wet. The room furniture looked battered, like it had been dragged down a freeway behind a truck. The hot tub didn’t work, and there were bugs floating in it. We definitely won’t stay here if we return to San Antonio.
