The front desk service was great, and the evening gentleman was especially helpful with whatever we needed. We loved the pool, including the nice shallow pool for little kids. Both of mine, ages 1 and 5, loved swimming. The beds were soft and suited our family, and the very cold AC felt great after long days out. The location was excellent, with everything we wanted to do just 5-15 minutes away. The room felt small for four people, and housekeeping could use more attention. There was no soap, and the room didn’t look like it had been vacuumed in a while. Nobody came to clean during our stay, which was okay, but a cleanup once would’ve been nice with four of us in a small room. The bathtub caulking needs replacing because water buildup is starting to cause mold, and the tub plug didn’t work, making it harder to bathe our kids. The hallways were dated, with stained carpet that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. The bartender said she didn’t know how to make cocktails and could only serve shots, beer, and wine. The bar was the main reason we booked, so I’m only about 50/50 on coming back. The hotel could use some TLC and better follow-up with housekeeping.
Breakfast was easily the best part this time. The waitress was wonderful, and the cook did an amazing job, so we’ll definitely eat there every day we’re here. We’d stayed here twice before and had good experiences, but this was our third visit and we’ll more than likely choose somewhere else next time. The room was damp and musty, the AC unit was coming out of the wall, and the pool was dirty. We skipped swimming on the second day.
The hotel was a 10/10 for us, and I don’t understand the negative reviews. We usually stay at LA Quinta. There was construction going on, but it didn’t spoil our stay. We had parking, and my mom, who stayed too, enjoyed it as well. Our room smelled of fresh carpet freshener, had clean sheets, and the bathroom was stocked with towels. The AC blew cold, the TV worked fine, and the shower pressure was okay. The water got really hot for my girls’ bath, which we loved. We only stayed one night this past weekend, but it was a very pleasant visit. The pool was large, clean, and nice. We ate breakfast somewhere else because we were traveling with other family members.
We only spent one night and didn’t use the pool, though it looked nice with lots of greenery around it. The shower pressure was amazing, and the AC worked perfectly in our second room. The unit in the first room didn’t work, but the front desk guy was helpful and moved us over without any trouble. It’s a nice hotel for the price, and the location is decent, not too far from the riverwalk. There’s quite a bit of construction going on right now.
The staff were kind and understanding when we reported the problems in our first room, and they moved us to another one. That helped, but the hotel overall is run down and poorly maintained. I wouldn’t recommend staying here; I’d look for another option in the area. Construction all around the hotel made things inconvenient, especially since we were visiting from out of town and didn’t know the area. On our first day, the building was extremely hot because the AC was out. The luggage trolley had a flat tire, and they only had two of them. In our first-floor room, there was hair on the toilet and bathroom wall. When I sat down, two pieces of wood fell from under the toilet. There was also a pile of dirt in the corner by the AC, so we asked the desk to clean the room, but they moved us instead. The rooms and TVs are very old, and breakfast isn’t complimentary, unlike at most Holiday Inns. The shower took ten minutes to heat up and then didn’t stay hot for long. There’s only one elevator, and it’s very old and hot.
