I usually stay at Motel 6 because the places I’ve found have been clean, well maintained, and reasonably priced. That wasn’t the case here, and next time I’ll pay more to stay elsewhere. The room was dirty and in poor repair. The front door’s security latch didn’t work, and the closet-style bathroom door had no knob, was gouged, and wouldn’t close properly. I’d reserved a non-smoking room, but it reeked of smoke. The clerk said the ice machine worked, though its sign said it didn’t. The pool was closed for maintenance, and there were no amenities like a fridge or even a microwave in the common area. They advertised a 12-minute walk to the Alamo, but that estimate might work for Olympians. We ended up taking an Uber.

The rooms were so dirty that we showed the receptionist a rag to prove it, and she said we could have gotten the towel somewhere else. She was VERY rude. They wouldn’t give a refund, even though they knew we deserved one. They also insist on a $25 deposit and require your physical card, saying tap pay doesn’t work, while the card reader literally says “tap to pay.” This place deserves 0 stars. DO NOT GO HERE.

For a budget friendly motel, this was much better than I expected. It could use some upkeep and isn’t perfect, but it was clean enough and felt safe. The bathroom was nice and even had a tub. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable, though it wasn’t bad, which is why I’m giving it four stars. Everyone at the front desk and on the room keeping staff was very friendly. I’d absolutely stay again.

I wouldn’t stay here. The rooms didn’t look clean when I first walked in, and there were bugs crawling around, mostly cockroaches and fruit flies.
