This is a lovely historic place to stay, with coffee in the rooms and nice attention to detail. The buildings were put up for military brass in 1912. You’re about 20 minutes from bars and restaurants, and the Riverwalk and surrounding area are just a spit away. I’ve included a few pictures of nearby spots where you can walk through history, including houses from the cotton-picking highs. It’s a good option if you want something apart from standard hotel rooms. The rooms were tidy and clean, and the owners were extremely attentive when I had a package delivered. When I needed a lighter for my cigars, they brought one over. We sat in their beautiful backyard with some wine, bourbons, and a good smoke. We highly recommend it.

The room was spotless, smelled fresh, and had great facilities. Kevin, the owner, was so polite and kind when we met. He shared lots of useful tips about San Antonio and nearby areas. Since nobody was booked after us, he let us stay two extra hours past checkout. I’d happily stay here again if I’m in the area.

Set in a residential neighborhood, these beautiful apartments have a real sense of history and are close to the River Walk, with fewer people around. Parking nearby is limited, though, so we sometimes had to leave the car farther down the street.

We were here for a couple of vacation days with family. The street was quiet, with plenty of restaurants close by, and the River Walk and Alamo were easy to reach on foot. Our room was excellent and very clean.
