All Star Lodge

The room was small but adequate, and the WiFi was free. The air conditioner worked well, too. There was no food at the hotel, and my room had no clock or clothes hangers. It also wasn't serviced while I was out. I had to leave a $40 cash deposit, and getting through the front door required a key. The reception desk was behind bulletproof glass, and the carpet in the room was dirty.

The staff members I met were pleasant, but the rest of my stay at the All Star was disgusting. I would've left right away if I could've gotten a refund. The carpet had severe stains and what looked like gum stuck in it, so I kept my sandals on the whole time. The curtains were stained too, and the bathroom was unclean, with hair in the shower and several kinds of bugs crawling around. I was too tired to make the three-hour drive home, and the bed looked clean, so I went to sleep. A few hours later I woke up itching. I had thought I'd found a discount place for one night, but ended up spending extra money getting deloused. Outdated decor isn't an excuse for not cleaning. The conditions were unacceptable, and I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The bed was fine for the one night I stayed, though there were hairs left on the pillows. When I brought it up with the front desk guy at night, he ignored us and was rude. He never answered the phone again either. A few things could be improved, but the service was the worst part.

I liked that room keys were needed to get in, with just one way in and one way out. It helped keep random people from walking into the hotel. My room was clean, though the place is being renovated. Housekeeping brought fresh towels, but didn't make the bed or replace the toilet paper when it ran out. I had to ask for a comforter, and after the first night my key needed to be reactivated.
