Catamaran Resort and Spa

The beach is right in front of the hotel room, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby within walking distance. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Waking up to the view each morning was priceless. The staff were warm and accommodating, and the grounds were beautifully maintained, with plenty of relaxing, photo-worthy corners. From the ocean breeze and golden sunsets to the peaceful island feel, the scenery was breathtaking. An unforgettable stay at Catamaran Island Resort. Highly recommend for a peaceful getaway with beautiful views and top-tier hospitality.

The grounds were beautiful, with ducks and ducklings, Koi, a waterfall, and an amazing bird show. The views were gorgeous, and the staff were absolutely amazing. Vallet was attentive. Some rooms had been updated, while others hadn’t. The restaurants were hit and miss for our group. Some of us had great coffee, while others had a horrible coffee experience.

The view, location, grounds, staff, and price were all great. But our room, tower Room 851, was really disappointing. The room, bath, kitchen, and balcony looked like they were from 1982, and the furniture reminded me of my old dorm room. The wall AC blew straight onto one side of the master bed, so it was either freeze with it on or sweat with it off. The kitchenette had nothing stocked in it. We heard some rooms had been renovated somewhat, but ours probably hadn’t ever been. Know what you’re getting. I expected at least a little better.

For over 15 years, this is the only place I’ve stayed in Pacific Beach. I’ve made a birthday trip here a tradition because it’s so wonderful. Mr. Lenin P, the front desk manager, switched us to a ground floor room right away when we said we needed one. Luchie was awesome too. Then he surprised us with coupons for Morays for my birthday. The Katsu chicken sandwich with bacon jam at Morays is absolutely divine. Thanks to Lenin for helping make my birthday exceptional!
