Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham San Diego Near Sea World

For the price, I wasn’t expecting an updated room or property. What mattered to me was good breakfast and helpful service, and both delivered. Breakfast was great, and my family was very happy. We even got upgraded to a suite right beside the pool. The TV remote was missing, but when we called at 7:30 at night, someone arrived in about 15 minutes. I loved the stay.

One night after visiting Seaworld was more than enough. The AC was awful. Maintenance came but didn’t fix anything, saying it was working fine, while our room stayed horribly hot, humid, and gross. We couldn’t wait to get out. The room also badly needs updating and a serious clean. The carpet, bed comforter, and even the lampshade were stained, and a gap of at least two inches under the door seemed big enough for bugs to crawl in. I’ll never stay here again and wouldn’t recommend it. You can find much better accommodations for the same rate.

We weren’t staying at the hotel ourselves, but our friends let us come by so our son could change and get ready for a gymnastics competition at the Convention Center. It seemed quiet and nice. Our friends seemed happy with their room, though they said the breakfast wasn’t very good. The room had an odor that reminded me of an older motel or hotel.

The staff were wonderful, and for the price the stay wasn’t bad. The beds were reasonably comfortable, though that’s a matter of taste, and breakfast was decent. I liked having a big shared area to eat in. Still, the room had dirty patches, big dust bunnies in a corner, a poorly cleaned bathroom, and dusty cabinets. That’s why I’m giving it three stars. I find negative reviews hard to write, but it wasn’t the best stay.
