Embassy Suites by Hilton San Diego Bay Downtown

Breakfast service was excellent. Donna served us, and Iniego kindly got me coffee one day and refilled the milk another, even though it was closing time. Felipe was a very kind cook, and Sabrina was a cheerful highlight every morning of our stay. Wonderful person, excellent service!

Our family, including the young kids, loved the hotel’s layout and glass elevators. The suite had plenty of room, and the sofa bed was surprisingly comfortable. Breakfast included both buffet and made-to-order choices, much better than at other hotels with complimentary breakfast. Seaport Village is right across the street, where we found a great seafood restaurant. The indoor pool is ideal in winter. Just a heads-up, valet parking is $70 and the $25 resort fee is a credit for food and drinks. Even with those costs, I’d still say it’s worth staying here.

Our stay at Embassy Suites San Diego Bay Downtown was lovely. It’s in a perfect spot, so getting around was easy and convenient. The service was excellent, and Sabrina was especially kind and helpful. She made the visit even better. We’ll definitely be back!

Check the final receipt they email the next day. We got charged for a restaurant bill after checkout, when we were already home. The next guests arrived early, went to the restaurant to wait, and charged their bill to our room. We’d already received what was called our final bill at checkout, but another one arrived by email the next day. I was already annoyed by the costs, so I looked it over and called the hotel to straighten things out. They sent me to leave a message for the restaurant manager, who never called back. I called again the next day, still polite but determined to get help. Two people were helpful, worked out what had happened, and apologized. They said the refund would take 5-10 days, and it finally came through on day nine. The view from our 10th-floor room was stunning, and a seagull visited both mornings. Still, $840 for a room advertised at $250 a night for two nights didn’t feel worth it, and I won’t stay here again. The rest of my family had gorgeous, large rooms at the Manchester Grand Hyatt for about the same price, though breakfast wasn’t included, and they could self-park for $35.
