I had a problem with a debit card hold when I rented a stay with them. Be careful using a debit or credit card, because once they put a hold on it, they weren’t responsive about helping me. If you’re okay with a couple hundred dollars, or more, being tied up for 30 days, then... I spoke directly with a corporate employee about resolving the hold. They need to remember that when someone isn’t spending money with this business, they won’t bother. They hired an employee who doesn’t understand that this conversation costs someone a lot more money. Mr. Paolo Amilasan, US NAVY.

The front desk staff were awesome, and I didn’t have any bad experiences in the neighborhood, though it’s not a great part of town. There are no microwaves in the rooms, but some are available in the common area with vending and laundry machines. The rooms are run down, as are the furniture and fixtures, and the mattress is as cheap as they come. I noticed a stain on the linens, though they were clean. If all you need is somewhere to sleep, it’ll do the job.

Having a smoking room seemed like a good deal, but the door had no inner lock. At 1am someone actually walked into the room. We called the front office and they didn’t care, saying their system showed we hadn’t checked in. There’s also a train going by every hour with a very loud horn, which was awful when we were trying to sleep after someone had been able to just walk in. There was no trash can, and the TV was about 20 inches. Terrible all around.

The pricing was great, but I didn’t like my stay. The bed was squeaky and the door wouldn’t lock, so I found myself heading out earlier than I’d expected.

It’s probably the cheapest hotel in San Diego, near the airport and close to the beach. There are some sketchy people operating out of there and what’s a little deals going on. That said, management is nice and they have a nice pool.
